Hey Friends,

Thanks for bearing with us while we sort out the inventory!! We'll be back open next week!! Stay tuned... Well we're sad to say bye to one of our best employees, Ms. Jacqueline, who's moving to Portland soon. Good luck girlie!! We need a few new volunteers so write to lolo [at] sweatrecordsmiami [dot] come if you're interested in doing a shift or two a week. Must have transportation and be over 18 (or close)!!

This weekend, at Circa Saturdays we're happy to welcome back JOHN HANCOCK for a live homecoming performance!! He's back in Miami and debuting new solo tracks and playing favorites from the Awesome New Republic catalog!! It's FREE so be there!! Circa28 is on 28th St. and N Miami Ave. and showtime is midnight upstairs.

Also, check out the "It Came From Miami" show Sunday at Studio A which features the local bands that are making us proud by touring the world!!

Hey Friends,

Big thanks to the 600+ people who came out to Churchill's to help us celebrate two years of Sweat last Friday!! It was a fantastic night - the bands were on-point, the vibe was beautiful, and the cupcake cake was incredible!! It was shaped like an LP on a turntable with our logo done up in icing, and yes, it was delicious. Pics soon...

This weekend all sorts of cool stuff is going on around Miami - tonight the Spam All-Stars celebrate their new CD with a show tonight at Studio A, the Rhythm Foundation has Sidestepper at the Bandshell, and Revolver celebrates it's 8-year anniversary at The Boutique at Pawn Shop with live performances by Matt and Kim and The Stone Figs!! Tomorrow, Circa Saturdays presents a live performance by The Hongs plus PS14's got ZOMBIE PROM with Otto and more!! Full details on everything below.

Also, we'd like to let you know that Sweat is going to closed next week for inventory!! Our computer is in the shop but as soon as it comes back we've bought some great new retail software that will help us serve you better all around!! It's here!! Our "Sweat Sound System" 2nd birthday bash + local showcase is TOMORROW NIGHT!! Check out the new issue of the Miami New Times spreading the word that Sweat is 2 and "Hotter Than Ever". Tomorrow's party will be guaranteed off the chain - new art by Helena Garcia and Ross Ford will be on display from 9pm, the live music starts at 11, and Sticky Fingers Cupcakes is outdoing themselves with a custom birthday cupcake cake for us!! Pink Ghost, Mamadelic and other local vendors will be set up on the patio, and some of Miami's best acts will be on hand so you can get some local music in your life - Raffa, PG-13/Junc Ops, Humbert, The JeanMarie, Animals of the Arctic and tons more!!

And, not only is it Sweat's birthday, but it's Raffa and Stephanie from Rag*Trade's birthdays as well!! There is much to celebrate and we hope you'll join us.

Doors are at 9pm and there's a $7 cover that goes straight to support the bands. Sweat will be open as well of course so wish us happy birthday and buy YOURSELF a CD!!

Then at Circa Saturdays we're proud to host "Permanent Mark", Guava's new show dedicated to the black Sharpie, and the after-party for local artist Federico Nessi's solo show!! No cover as usual so stop by after you enjoy Miami's monthly Gallery Walk. Full info below...

Our "Sweat Sound System" 2nd birthday bash + local showcase is officially one week away!! Mark your calendars for what is sure to be a radical night of live music, art, cupcakes and warm fuzziness. It's May 11th if ya don't know...

This weekend at Circa Saturdays, we're celebrating CIRCA DE MAYO!! We've got piñatas filled with drink tickets and other treats, free tequila shots 11-12, a guest set by DJ Jimmy James and the upstairs dance fiesta you know and love. No cover as always!!

Also, voting time is about to end for the New Times "Best of Miami" poll. Please vote Sweat as "Best Record/CD Store", Churchil's as "Best Rock Club" and Circa Saturdays as "Best Dance Club" if you have a minute. Thanks in advance!!
