Hey Friends,
Happy Holidays!!
First off, we'd like to let you know that we've started a blog so that you can always go there to check out the most recent Sweat Events email. The address is sweatrecordsmiami.blogspot.com so bookmark it for future reference!! It's cool because we'll also include more pics and links in it, so check it out...
Second, Sweat Records will be closed Thursday!! Enjoy that tofurky.
Third, this long weekend would be a great time to read "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracy Kidder so you can join us for discussion at the Sweat Books Book Club meeting next Thursday, November 9th...
And last but certainly not least...
Tonight is The 4th Annual '80s Prom!!
This is one of the most straight-up FUN events of the year. People dress up like craaazy, the music is a blast from the past, lots of old friends come in from out of town and it's all-around good times. This year the Prom Band is local favorites ANIMALS OF THE ARCTIC!! They've learned a whole set of '80s covers and take the stage at midnight.
Cover for this event is ONLY $5. It's going to be awesome!!
But, you don't have to take our word for it, you can read about it in Flavorpill, the SunPost, MiamiNights.com and more!!
The last three were amazing so you don't want to miss it!! We hope to see you there...
Cheers,
Lolo and the Sweat crew

SWEAT BOOKS BOOK CLUB: Our current selection is "Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World" by Pulitzer Prize-winner Tracy Kidder.*
From the back cover: "In medical school, Paul Farmer found his life's calling: to cure infectious diseases and to bring the lifesaving tools of modern medicine to those who need them most. Tracy Kidder's magnificent account shows how one person can make a difference in solving global health problems through a clear-eyed understanding of the interaction of politics, wealth, social systems, and disease. Profound and powerful, Mountains Beyond Mountains takes us from Harvard to Haiti, Peru, Cuba, and Russia as Farmer changes people's minds through his dedication to the philosophy that 'the only real nation is humanity.'"
(*I already finished this book and it was truly inspiring - highly recommended! -Lo)
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 29th at 8pm. Be there AND be square.
