Hey Friends,

First we'd like to thank everyone in Miami for making last week's Awesome New Republic show and Earthdance 2007 such great successes!! Both homegrown events were PACKED and you could definitely feel the 305 love all around. If you hadn't heard, ANR announced that they are in fact reuniting so there will be more amazing shows in the future!!

Now, we've got a major announcement that we couldn't be happier to share...

*SWEAT RECORDS IS MOVING AGAIN - TO OUR OWN STOREFRONT!!!!!!!!!*

Yes friends, it's true and we couldn't be more excited!! And we're not going far...the space up front on NE 2nd Ave. is now the future home of the expanded Sweat Records!! This is PERFECT as now we get to have our own entrance and everything again, but still stay close to and keep partying with our best friends at Churchill's, who so graciously took us in and gave us a home when Hurricane Wilma destroyed the original Sweat location in October 2005. Churchill's rules!!

The Sweat list will continue to bring you the best, most comprehensive list of South Florida music and cultural happenings every week while we're closed. We'll also be posting pics of the renovations and further details about our plans for the "new" shop, including vinyl players and accessories, books, and even coffee and tea!! A new website launch is in the works too, as well as all sorts of fun special events to take us through the end of the year.

Tonight is the long-awaited AWESOME NEW REPUBLIC reunion show at Studio A!!

ANR were a force to be reckoned with during their heyday in 2005. Their "ANR So Far" album is still one of Sweat's best sellers, they were featured on WLRN, on Nic Harcourt's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" show on KCRW, on BBC Radio, and even the stingy Pitchfork Media gave them a stellar review. Yet while their album is definitely full of some amazing Miami music, their live show is what really won over all their fans. Tonight expect to hear all your ANR favorites as well as some surprises, plus they're coming arm-in-arm with some of the best indie bands in Miami - The Down Home Southernaires, Cassette, and The Jean Marie!! PG-13 and I will be DJing between sets and cover is only $5 for all this goodness!!

Happy Saturday!! It's the first real gallery walk of the season tonight so we hope to see you out and about. I'll be DJing at the grand opening of the Harold Golen Gallery - Miami's biggest new lowbrow/pop surrealist space. Harold used to own of Miami's best stores - POP on South Beach - so you know this spot will be just as kitschy and swanky... Tonight is also HIALEAHFEST at Churchill's and we've got guest DJ ALEX CASO at Circa Saturdays!!
