PLUG Thanks + New Local Music System!!

WOW. Last Friday's PLUG MIAMI show might've been one of the best events we've ever done!! All the acts - Avenue D, Otto Von Schirach, The Jacuzzi Boys, Jose El Rey - were fantastic, over 700 of you came out to party and bid Avenue D a fond farewell, and Arthur Baker and Sweat's own Mike Deuce kept the dancefloor going past 4am!! Thanks to everyone involved who helped make our last event of the year such a success.

(We're also proud to say that, according to the New Times, Sweat threw 3 of the 20 best shows in all of South Florida in 2007 - EL-P, MELT-BANANA, and CAT POWER - which even made it into the national year-end Village Voice list! Stay tuned for more awesome shows, parties and events coming at ya in 2008.)

On to Sweat biz! In order to make life easier for everyone and encourage sales of homegrown goodness, Sweat has a fab new policy for our local music section. Starting this week we will straight-up buy 2 copies of any local artist's CD/LP to stock in our store - no consignment, no paperwork, just cash money for your music. Our guidelines:
-CDs must have professional packaging or at least REALLY cool handmade packaging!
-Sweat's local mark-up is 25%, so if your wholesale price is $7.50 we'll sell it for $10, etc.
-If you want it played in-store, bring an extra copy for us to keep!

We have the most comprehensive local music/culture/merch selection available anywhere in South Florida - make sure you don't miss out on this great chance for exposure and to get your creations seen and heard by the enlightened customers of Sweat!!
