SCIENCE CLUB TONIGHT + LOCAL AUTHOR SHOWCASE THURSDAY!!

Dear Friends,

WMC was great but like a lot of you - we're glad it's over!! The Kimya Dawson and Handsome Furs shows Sweat co-presented were both fantastic - last year during WMC we brought down EL-P and The Presets so we're glad to keep bringing quality music down during the madness...

Lots of great in-stores and whatnot coming up, here we go...

Tonight is the inaugural meeting of the SWEAT SCIENCE CLUB!! Colin Ford and Jared McKay of Coral Morphologic - responsible for the amazing saltwater coral reef tank in the store - will talk about aquaculture, the tank and other related topics. Then, Thursday night is the second Local Author Showcase!! Miami's own Crissa-Jean Chapell's award-winning young adult book "Total Constant Order" is about a South Florida teen dealing with obsessive compulsive disorder.

Both events start at 8pm and we'll be providing refreshments. Flavorpill featured both of this week's in-stores up so click the links to read more:

Sweat Science Club: Coral Morphologic
Local Author Showcase: Crissa-Jean Chapell

This Friday night begins our new weekly party at Miami's gorgeous new venue THE VAGABOND!! If you haven't been yet, just wait 'til you see it. We're so happy to be there and will be bringing you tons of CD release parties, live performances, and an all-around fantastic dance party. No inflated drink prices, no door bs, no dress codes - just come as you are.

Last but not least, the "Music + Sound" issue of the fantastic MAP Magazine is out now and available for free at Sweat!! The entire issue can be downloaded as a pdf or read online at www.themapmag.com - be sure to check out the awesome article about Sweat Records on page 40!! They'll be celebrating the release this Saturday night at Poplife at The White Room with a live performance by Rachel Goodrich starting at 11pm.

Cheers,
Lolo, Jsin + the Sweat crew

P.S. Tonight is the last ever NIGHT OF WEIRDS at next door at Churchill's!! Come early for Science Club and then weird out!!

Hi Lolo / SR,

On behalf of XL Recordings and Warner Bros Records, many thanks for plugging “Consolers Of The Lonely” ... .. thanks also, on behalf of the labels and The Raconteurs, for not posting any pirate links although, if your readers would like a good quality, non-pirated, preview clip, a widget of the promo video for “Salute Your Solution” is available for fans and bloggers to embed at http://www.theraconteurs.com/widget.html

Regards,
