Pretty Please, New Vinyl + CONTROL!!

Dear Friends,

Thanks to the 1000+ of people who came out to The Vagabond last week!! Hope you liked the cupcakes and spiked sno-cones (we sure did...). Tonight, we've got Miami power-pop trio PRETTY PLEASE performing live!! Showtime is at midnight in the Garden.

Also, thanks to everyone who came out for PURE IMAGINATION LIVE on Saturday!! Sweat was packed, the stories and music were captivating and Raffa's vegan chili was hearty and delicious. The next one will be in August but in the meantime you can download and/or podcast past episodes at vangloria.net/pureimagination

SCIENCE CLUB is indeed returning!! We'll announce the date next email (we promise!!) but we've got a fantastic guest speaker lined up and we're sure that you're going to love it. For other clubs, Sweat is available as a meeting/event space for a variety of needs. In the last week alone we've had live bands, movie screenings, meetings for craft guilds and gardeners, and so on. Just email us to see which dates are available for your idea or event. Don't forget about our free wi-fi!!

Also... ATTENTION VINYL JUNKIES!! We just got in an AMAZING new loads of used records - mostly 70s and 80s stuff so there's tons of David Bowie, Talking Heads, Roxy Music, Stevie Wonder, The Cure, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Patti Smith, Lou Reed and other essential classics. Almost all of them are priced to move (under $10 a pop) so come and get 'em while you can!! Each one will also come with a free high-quality poly vinyl sleeve to keep it nice for years to come.

Last but not least, the next part of our summer-long collaboration with the MOCA's music-infused exhibition "Sympathy For The Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967"... Tomorrow the 14th at 2pm they'll be screening the highly-anticipated new film CONTROL by Anton Corbijn!! This film about Joy Division's Ian Curtis has been getting rave reviews and is a must-see for any JD fan. While you're there, check out MOCA's gift shop for the Sweat Mini-Store featuring tons of CDs related to the exhibition. See you tomorrow!!

Cheers,
Lolo, Jsin + the Sweat crew
