Benefits, In-Stores + More!!

Dear friends,

Last night's Sweat Benefit Show at Churchill's was AMAZING!! Thanks so much to all the bands and everyone who helped spread the word and came out. Tons of you took advantage of our great deal to "Buy-yourself-a-CD-and-get-in-free-next-door" so we hope you all love what you bought!! We'll be getting a fancy alarm system and a new fish tank sooner than later dammit!!

We are having another concert to raise funds next Thursday, October 2nd at The Vagabond!! *SWEAT-AID* will feature live performances by Miami favorites THE JEANMARIE, THE JACUZZI BOYS, PRETTY PLEASE and JOSE EL REY, plus DJs and other surprises!! Cover is only $5 and all proceeds go to the shop. We're doing the same deal to get in for this one too - come into Sweat and grab yourself any new CD, LP, DVD or book and we'll put you on the guest list for this awesome show.

We're trying our hardest to get Sweat back to being the fully-functional, multi-purpose, all-ages community event space that it was before all our stuff got stolen and we are SO appreciative of everyone who is helping to get us there. We've gotten so many awesome emails from South Florida and around the world about what happened and we're writing everyone back as fast as we can.

Speaking of helping...last week at FRIDAYS AT THE VAGABOND, we collected a massive MOUNTAIN of stuff to send to Haitian hurricane victims!! Thanks to everyone who showed up and brought goods. Tonight at The Vagabond, we've got your favorite residents DJs and a live performance by rockabilly punks VIVALEVOX!! Show time is midnight in the Garden. Great article about Fridays and Vivalevox here: Vivalevox Live Tomorrow Night at The Vagabond

Also early tonight is an in-store at Sweat featuring DESERTER and LIL DAGGERS. Tomorrow night there's another great in-store featuring locals SIRENS & SEALIONS, NICK DELUCA, MICHELLE BLADES and POSTMAIL!! Read what the New Times has to say about it here: Sirens & Sealions

Much love,
Lolo, Jsin and the Sweat crew

Spend a good length of time working on the sidewalk along Northeast Second Avenue in Little Haiti, and you'll find that ''everybody honks,'' says artist Claudio Picasso. And if you're painting a mural outside of Sweat Records.
