IGGY, ART BASEL + PINK CANDY DISKO!!

Dear Friends,

First off: THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MIAMI LOVE to everyone who came out to help make our grand opening a huge success and a great party!! All the bands - RACHEL GOODRICH, THE JEANMARIE, THE JACUZZI BOYS and AFROBETA - were phenomenal so next time you get a chance to see either of them do it!! Thank you to everyone for being so rad and supportive - there were good vibes all around, cupcakes everywhere, and people even showed up wearing Sweat colors. Believe us when we say that things like that are what keeps us working hard to bring you the best record store/coffee house/cultural outpost that we can. We're getting tons of new music and merch in every day, and our drinks are delicious so stop by!!

THIS WEEK: ART... BASEL... MADNESS. There are so many art shows going on that we can't list them all here but there are plenty of resources available to find out all the low-down. However, we've listed most of the music-oriented events (including Moby, MSTRKRFT, and more) below. Check the bottom of the blog for a massive gallery of fliers!!

TONIGHT: IGGY AND THE STOOGES live for free on the beach on the sand off Collins between 21st and 22nd. Need we say more?

TOMORROW: Swindle Magazine presents "KNUCKLE SANDWICH" - a four-man show featuring DALEK, JIM HOUSER, ROCKY GRIMES and PUSH at Atrium (Collins and 19th). Free booze, hors d'oeuvres, and music by yours truly. Also Thursday, DAEDELUS live at the Upper East Side Garden!!

FRIDAY: The Sweat-curated "PINK CANDY DISKO" show Friday night at Studio A is definitely turning into one of the most talked-about, must-attend shows this Basel!! Witness first-time South Florida performances from ARIEL PINK (on Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label) live with a FULL BAND, and sexy Italo-freestyle duo GLASS CANDY (Italians Do It Better)!! Look 'em up online if ya haven't heard... Plus, local noisemakers DINO FELIPE (Schematic) and AWESOME NEW REPUBLIC (Honor Roll) open up, THE DEUCE CREW provides beats between sets, and the room will come alive with balloon installations and artist FEDERICO NESSI's custom video projections.

DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!! Tickets are only $15 with no service charges at Sweat Records, or you can get a ticket at the door the night of the show for $20.
